Personal Interests and Passions
I teach in an international school with a 1:1 Apple Macbook set-up. I would like to help students better use their Macs for communication and collaboration.

More About Me
My 16 years in education have provided me with experiences instructing diverse students in elementary and middle school settings. I have worked with students of all socioeconomic backgrounds and with students from diverse cultural backgrounds. I have experience in international education, Lutheran education, and public education. In 2003, I became involved with strategic planning. Curriculum development is my passion. I especially enjoy aligning curriculum and assessments with the larger goals and priorities of an organization. I believe that continual formative assessments at the classroom level and the organizational level are necessary for effective change management. As expateducator.com continues and my readership grows, you can expect to see eBooks and Tutorials. I’m currently thinking of ways to set up an effective Minimalist Classroom. The Minimalist Classroom is the classroom where the teacher is able to separate him/herself activities or procedures that interrupt solid planning, instruction, assessment, and communication. The Minimalist Classroom is environmentally-friendly and integrates technology so that the classroom uses the least paper possible. While my credentials are solid, I’m still learning. You will be reading about my foibles. I hope you will make comments on solutions you have discovered. Online Professional Learning Communities can be extremely powerful. When I’m not blogging or teaching, I am writing a dissertation on Performance Pay in Education. In the dissertation, I am discovering international school administrator views of Performance Pay. For fun, you can read about my adventures as an expat. My friend Thais and I operate Expat Sisterhood (http://blog.expatsisterhood.com).
