Short Session Description (one line): Learn how you can reframe your lesson design as app flow, a framework that helps you seamlessly integrate technology into lesson plans with pedagogical insight.
Full Session Description (as long as you would like):
Do you find integrating technology into your lessons a little overwhelming? How do you keep track of all the great tools you want to use, but also make sure you are meeting your learning objectives? App Flow is a framework that helps you seamlessly integrate technology into lesson or unit planning. App Flow provides scaffolding, helping you think with purpose about where, why, and how you are integrating technology for learning, from the hook in the beginning to the wrap-up at the end. You’ll also see how App Flow intersects with the SAMR model, which helps you evaluate how technology affects student tasks and impacts student outcomes. App Flow is part of Graphite, a free service by Common Sense Media that helps teachers discover and use great apps, websites, and games rated for learning potential. On Graphite, you can browse App Flows developed by teachers from all subjects and grade levels, and get inspired for your own teaching. In a hands-on activity, you can start with your favorite lesson plan and “tech it up” with App Flow, or you can use the framework to design new tech-rich learning experiences for students. See how the App Flow framework can help you design tech rich lessons in practical and authentic ways.
