The Inspire Citizens Global Impact School Self-Study is a publication, framework, and global initiative under the direction of Steve Sostak and Aaron Moniz, co-founders of Inspire Citizens. The self-study exists as a global and intercultural competence guide designed for schoolwide implementation of deep thinking and applied learning towards meeting three urgent global needs: Ongoing, compassionate civic engagement, collective wellbeing, and the sustainable development of the world.

The self-study is designed for schools, administrators, and educators that wish for local and global community impact to be an essential thread of student learning and a school’s educational model. However, this isn’t always an easy task. Schools and classrooms are not always set up to encourage applied learning centered on compassionate empathy and sustainable civic action. Through ten pathways and sub-criteria, the self-study encourages best-practices in professional learning, efficacy research in short and long-term strategic planning, and contextualized, student-led action that empowers learners to build a more healthy, sustainable, and equitable future.
